Making a difference can be as simple as a toothbrush or a bar of soap

This December, we were so grateful to have the support of staff from our local Ministry of Transportation office, as they visited our warehouse to help organize and distribute hygiene products for local agencies and schools. The items, like toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant and feminine hygiene products, can make a measurable difference for those struggling to afford everything they need to get by month-to-month.

These items also support our Hygiene Kit initiative. Hygiene Kits provide access to every day essential items for those experiencing financial insecurity. By supporting individuals with these basic needs, the kits provide a sense of dignity to those who otherwise struggle to access to these everyday items. When a person is able to care for their own personal hygiene, they are then able to focus on other important needs such as maintaining housing, finding employment or even purchasing food.

Connaught Public School visited our warehouse to pick up hundreds of toothbrushes and toothpaste to fill their holiday gift bags for students. The hard-working teachers and support staff do their best to ensure all students go home for the holidays with warm winter clothing and that they leave with a gift bag full of helpful items. It’s not always easy for families to make ends meet through the holidays, and this is just one way our partnerships can help.
