Campaign Assistant

Reports to: Campaign Manager
Type of Position: Seasonal, Full Time (remote work)
Closing Date: June 26, 2020

The Campaign Assistant will assist with the planning and execution of fundraising, recognition and campaign activities. The position will also support the United Way annual fundraising campaign which raises funds to support poverty alleviation, independence, children and youth and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development of campaign marketing and communication materials
  • Assist with the promotion of fundraising activities through social media
  • Assist with planning virtual events
  • Solicit sponsorships, prizes and donations from local individuals and businesses
  • Assist with campaign mailers
  • Assist with community impact initiatives
  • Data entry and support
  • Database updates and maintenance
  • Other duties as required

Job Requirements:

  • Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • University or College student studying Event Management, Fundraising, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including daytime, evenings and weekends
  • Access to a vehicle
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Computer literate in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Office and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Adobe programs such as InDesign and Photoshop is considered an asset
  • Experience in event planning, communications, and marketing for a not-for-profit organization is an asset
  • 1-2 years demonstrated customer service experience is an asset
  • Database experience is an asset
