Privacy Policy
Purpose:
Under the Federal Act, the United Way of Niagara Falls and Greater
Fort Erie is required to have a Privacy Policy to describe our use
and protection of personal information. This would be available to
all staff and our member agencies. It covers our collection of personal
information through our online donation page and through our pledge
cards, for which we have responsibility, as well as govern our relationship
with our member agencies and the general public.
Policy:
The United Way of Niagara Falls and Greater Fort Erie is commited
to protect our donor privacy and maintaining the confidentiality of
their personal information.
Personal information may be provided to us through correspondence, pledge cards
or other forms of communication. Such information may be recorded for the purpose
of processing and receipting a donation, distributing a donation to a member
agency or other registered charity, recognizing a contribution, registering
your participation in a conference, meeting or other event, or responding to
information requests.
Such information may also be communicated to our member agencies, with donor
authorization, according to the stated purpose for which the donor provided
the information, respecting the confidentiality of such information. This policy
is binding on all personal information that our donors provide directly to
the United Way of Niagara Falls and Greater Fort Erie or through generic forms
or process under our auspices.
The United Way of Niagara Falls and Greater Fort Erie will not provide or share
any personal Information with third parties unless:
- We are authorized to share the information;
- The information is necessary to process a donation, for example
to process a credit card transaction; or
- We are required by law.
